In this week's episode, we will talk about how women in the past used everyday knowledge to solve problems in their homes and communities. Professor Joan Judge from York University in Canada will share how she uncovered what women knew and how they used their skills in areas like caring for their families, preserving food, and treating illnesses. She was invited by the University of Hong Kong to give a talk called “Women As Vernacular Knowers In China’s Long Republic (1894-1954): What We Can Learn From Cheap Print.”
