According to the suicide data released by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention at the University of Hong Kong, the suicide rate among adolescents under the age of 15 in Hong Kong increased in 2023. Earlier, the government, through cross-departmental collaboration among the Health Bureau, the Education Bureau, and the Social Welfare Department, implemented a three-tier emergency mechanism in all secondary schools across Hong Kong this year.
